Which voices are available?+

Six voices are available: Aria (US Female), James (US Male), Sophie (British Female), Oliver (British Male), Emma (Australian Female), and Liam (Canadian Male). More voices will be added in future updates.

Can I adjust the reading speed?+

Yes. Use the Speed slider to set any rate from 0.5× (half speed, great for learning) to 2× (double speed for fast listening). You can also adjust playback speed live in the audio player after generation.

What audio formats can I download?+

You can download the audio as MP3 (best compatibility), WAV (lossless quality) or OGG (smaller open-format file). All three formats play on virtually any device.

Can I convert a long PDF?+

Yes, but for large PDFs we recommend starting with a page range of 5–10 pages to preview the result. This is faster and lets you verify the voice and settings before generating the full document.

Is my PDF content private?+

Yes. All text extraction and speech synthesis runs in your browser using the Web Speech API. Your PDF and its content are never sent to any server.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?+

Scanned PDFs contain image-based pages rather than text. The tool will not be able to extract text from them. Use the PDF to Word tool with OCR enabled first to make the text selectable, then convert to speech.

Can I use this to create audiobooks?+

Yes! Upload any book or document PDF, choose your preferred voice and speed, and download the audio. Multiple pages can be converted in one go and saved as a single audio file.
