I use this daily for domain research. The structured output with copy buttons saves me tons of time compared to raw whois terminals.

❓ FAQ

What is IP Whois?+
IP Whois looks up the network registration data for an IP address — who owns the IP range, their organisation, country, and which Regional Internet Registry (RIR) manages the allocation.
What are the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs)?+
Five RIRs manage IP allocation by region: ARIN (North America), RIPE NCC (Europe/Middle East), APNIC (Asia-Pacific), LACNIC (Latin America), AFRINIC (Africa). This tool uses ARIN by default and may redirect to others.
What is a CIDR block?+
CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) notation like 8.8.8.0/24 represents a range of IP addresses. /24 means 256 addresses. CIDR blocks are how IP address ranges are allocated to organisations.
How is IP Whois different from domain Whois?+
Domain Whois shows who registered a domain name. IP Whois shows who owns an IP address range. They are separate systems — a domain's IP might be owned by a cloud provider even if the domain is registered by someone else.
Why does ARIN RDAP sometimes fail for non-US IPs?+
ARIN primarily covers North American IPs. For European IPs, use RIPE (ripe.net). For Asia-Pacific, use APNIC (apnic.net). The error message guides you to the appropriate RIR for your IP.
